Two ‘Road to Nationhood’ democracy workshops were conducted in Sibu and Kuching with members of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) of Sarawak, a component member of the governing state coalition (Gabungan Parti Sarawak).

The workshops were based on the Astro Awani documentary of the same title that documented how Sarawak together with Sabah merged with the Federation of Malaya to form Malaysia.

The documentary allowed us to focus on how Malaysia was really a decolonization project of the British Empire involving largely local political and economic elites in Malaya, Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak.
